The family of viruses behind severe acute respiratory syndrome, which escalated to thirty –seven countries in 2003, leading to the global fright is the coronavirus. The discovery that the onset of viral pneumonia in China hit fifty-nine people which may be due to this coronavirus which killed more than 750 people, means that health authorities all over the world will be closely monitoring.

However, China is of view that this disease is not a severe acute respiratory syndrome or Middle East respiratory syndrome, both these diseased are given rise by coronaviruses, and until now it seems to be moderate than both. It has been observed that it does not seem to escalate easily between humans which is a different feature from the severe acute respiratory syndrome and it has a mortality rate of thirty-five percent, which is a different feature from the Middle East respiratory syndrome, which means that nobody has died.

For medical specialists all over the world, it is troubling news that the recognition in initial laboratory tests by the Chinese of a novel coronavirus developing once again from animals to infect humans. In 2002, when the severe acute respiratory syndrome came into view in China, it was not quickly recognized and restricted. It advanced around the world-specifically to Canada through the travellers.

An expert in tropical diseases Jeremy Farrar, and also a director expressed his views, saying one of our extreme health dangers worldwide are the epidemics of the disease that are known and unknown, these dangers are with us in always. A number of patients with an abnormal respiratory infection are, and should always be trouble. The level of worry augments again when the disease is connected to the animal food source. This is the manner in which new viruses jump over the species border as was the case with severe acute respiratory syndrome, Middle East respiratory syndrome, Ebola and avian flu.

The origin of the disease is not known, however, based on some inspections it was found that it originated from the market in Wuhan selling seafood and live animals. The inception of the severe acute respiratory syndrome was finally tracked to bats in a cave in Yunnan province in China. Even though it is believed that the Middle East respiratory syndrome was caused by bats, the Dromedary camel is the reason for the onset of the disease.

A declaration by the World Health Organization said that the Chinese officials assumed that the disease does not pass on easily between the people, but it can lead to serious illness in certain patients. At the weekend, seven people were known to be severely unwell. Since Sunday, the Chinese officials have not notified the figures. As per the state television, it was found that eight people were taken to the hospital with respiratory issues that had been discharged.

An all-inclusive data is needed to validate the pathogen, and also to have a better knowledge of the incidence, distribution and possible control of the onset of the disease, the examinations to find the source, the medical picture, and the scale of infection, ways of transmission and the corrective actions that are put into practice. Hong Kong has already set off preventive measures remembering the severe acute respiratory syndrome, where people coming from Wuhan are being tested for symptoms of respiratory that are identical to flu. Certain people have been admitted into the hospitals, but it has been observed that no one has viral pneumonia of the kind seen in China.

One of the main issues as if the infection was passing on from one person to another. Are the patients being treated by the doctors and nurses or family members, who have not a similar vulnerability to the source, also getting sick? Questioned by Farrar.

The degree of worry is decreased a little if the infection doesn’t’ spread from one person to another even though there is always a chance that it can take place later and the infections have the features to alter.

It was comforting because he said it seems that there have not been any newly established cases in Wuhan for fifteen days.

The medical officials in China are correct, thus, to take the time needed to conduct intensive tests and to establish the right identification and treatment for the disease. As we have experienced with the previous reactions to the Nipah outbreak in 1999, when public health reactions are pressed it leads to troubles.

The health community all over the world still has much to do to counter the worldwide epidemic alertness, whereas early recognition of this new virus is evidence of extremely enhanced regulation. We have long known that severe acute respiratory syndrome and the Middle East respiratory syndrome are epidemic dangers, but still, there is no availability of treatment of vaccine of these diseases.
