(IOS) – Five Wuhan coronavirus confirmed cases have been recorded in the United States, and it will continue to climb says a top official from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told to reporters.

The new coronavirus has killed more than 100 people in China and thousands of people are admitted to the hospital. This virus belongs to a big family of virus that mostly infectious animals. But this Coronavirus is dangerous than Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and this virus is spreading worldwide and infecting people on a large scale.

In spite of its impact in China, the CDC believes that the risk to Americans is low when compared with the Chinese. Health officials still don’t have answers to these questions like the Virus symptoms, and how easily it spreads.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) raised the travel safety measures in order to prevent this dangerous thing and advising travelers to avoid nonessential travel.

Director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, Dr. Nancy Messonnier told reporters that “We need to be preparing as if this is a pandemic, but I continue to hope that it is not”.

People who are suffering from the deadly virus in the United States had all recently returned from Wuhan.

Washington State

The first registered case in the United States has happened in Washington State. After returning from Wuhan, a man in his 30s took treatment at an Emergency Care Center. They tested him and sent the samples to the CDC, and the officials in the CDC confirmed that he is infected with the coronavirus.

He went to the hospital in Everett and admitted in isolated care in order to control the infection, on January 23. Doctors treating him and put him in an isolated gurney which is designed especially for the people who are suffering from highly contagious diseases, and the person taking care by a robot.

Dr. George Diaz who is an infectious disease expert told reporters that he is in stable condition.

Illinois

A woman who returned from Wuhan on January 13, was tested a few days ago and the doctors sent her samples to CDC, which confirmed she had the coronavirus. Dr. Allison Arwardy, Public Health Commissioner of the Chicago Department told reporters that, she is responding to the treatment and doing well. In order to control the Outbreak, she has to stay in the hospital.

California

Two cases of coronavirus have been recorded in California: One in Los Angeles County and another in Orange County.

The details are unavailable about the Los Angeles county patient. They are undergoing treatment at a local hospital, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health didn’t reveal the case details regarding when did they admit in the hospital and where they have been infected.

A top official from the Los Angeles County Department told to reporters that as of now everything is in our control and the risk to Los Angeles County is low.

A man in his 50s recently went to Wuhan earlier this month and the county tested him and sent his samples to CDC, and the county officials got the confirmation from the CDC that he is infected. Now, he is currently taking treatment in a local hospital.

Arizona

A person from Arizona State University is self-isolated at home, and the State health department didn’t disclose the patient’s age or gender.

The person called his healthcare provider as soon as he realized that he is experiencing moderate respiratory symptoms. His samples have been sent and the CDC confirmed the coronavirus on Sunday.

Individuals who are in danger

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention keep an eye on 26 states for coronavirus. They are monitoring one hundred persons.

The persons who are in close contact with the state’s patients are also observing by the Washington state officials and the health officials are monitoring nearly 50 people.

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is observing two possible cases of this deadly virus. Both the persons went to Wuhan City recently, experiencing mild respiratory symptoms and the DHHS sent their samples to CDC and waiting for their report.

No cases relating to coronavirus have been recorded in New York, confirmed by the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. But they sent seven potential cases to the CDC for testing. Four individuals will remain isolated until their test results are available. Our focus is on the people who went to China for the Lunar New Year Celebrations and returned to the United States recently.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is working closely with the CDC in order to assess the person’s information who is at risk of getting coronavirus from the healthcare providers.

Four individuals have been tested for coronavirus from places like Virginia, Oklahoma, and Maryland. Several cases have been confirmed in Asian Countries, such as Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand. Health officials also getting reports from France and Australia regarding this deadly virus.

What’s being done to stop coronavirus?

Screening is happening to the passengers in certain United States airports by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Airports in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York is under the control of CDC and they began screening travelers last week.

CDC is covering 20 American airports and they focus mainly on the passengers who returned recently from China.

The CDC advising the people in America to postpone their travel plans to Hubei province. Canadian Government also issued a travel advisory and making people cancel their travel to the Hubei Province of China. Wuhan, Ezhou, and Huanggang are the cities advised by the Canadian Government.

Local public transportation services also temporarily canceled by the northern Chinese city of Tangshan.

The Health Officials in CDC, recommending people wash their hands with soap after every activity they do with it for a duration of twenty seconds, wear face masks while interacting with the people. They are also predicting that the coronavirus vaccine may take one year to reach the public.
